Job Summary
The Healthcare Staff Supervisor (PSW) will be responsible for ensuring that an exemplary level of customer service is being provided by Carecor’s healthcare providers at our contracted acute care facilities within Nova Scotia. A large part of the role will include orientation and support of newly hired Carecor healthcare providers, including providing - N95 Mask Fit Testing (scheduling and testing), General Orientation (scheduling and presenting), other testing (such as IPAC quizzes and PPE verification), assisting with organizing on unit orientations, and direct staff supervision of unregulated care providers (such as PSW’s, Unit Aides, Unit Clerks, and Patient Attendants as required) in collaboration with our existing Healthcare Staff Supervisor team.

- Full-Time, Permanent

Scheduled Hours
- 37.5 hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, hours may be flexible as required
- Shift work, including some evenings and weekends maybe required depending on healthcare provider schedule

Location
- Carecor Halifax Branch Office
- Remote work as required

Reports to
- Halifax Branch Director of Client Services

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensures that Carecor’s Vision, Mission and Value statement are demonstrated by our healthcare providers at our client facility sites.
- Scheduling and presenting general Orientation sessions to new Carecor Healthcare providers on an ongoing basis as part of Carecor’s on-boarding process in coordination with our HR team, and updates the orientation content/process as required.
- Scheduling and providing N95 Mask Fit testing to Carecor Healthcare providers in office on an ongoing basis as part of Carecor’s credentialing requirements for all Carecor staff.
- Assist with arranging on-site facility orientation and training of new hires in collaboration with Carecor’s Staffing Office for any software training and/or clinical or technical skills.
- Where required, provide direct, on-site clinical observation and supervision of Carecor’s unregulated healthcare providers at our client Facility sites.
- Verifies that healthcare providers are properly attired and professional in appearance and manner.
- Seeks feedback about healthcare providers from facility Charge Nurse and Educators related to quality care, skills, professionalism.
- Seeks feedback from Facility/Unit that healthcare providers have arrived on time and that they are taking the appropriate breaks.
- Evaluates and provides verbal and written feedback to healthcare providers and documents in their personnel profile.
- Follow up in a timely manner related to Facility Complaint/incidents as required in collaboration with the HSS team.
- Assist with completing probationary reviews for new hires and assist with completing annual healthcare provider performance reviews and engages branch region Director of Client Services as needed in coordination with existing HSC team.
- Ensures that healthcare providers are providing care that is consistent with health and safety practices.
- Contributes information related to Facility level profiles pertaining to healthcare provider skills required
- Liaises with healthcare providers to obtain feedback on assignments, quality improvement and risk management issues and learning needs.
- Participates in weekly local Leadership meetings, Healthcare Staff Supervisor meetings, and other Carecor meetings as required
- Contributes to other projects within Carecor Health Services, including Quality Improvement initiatives and Accreditation audits.
- Promotion of Carecor initiatives/program as required within the facility (i.e./, employee referral bonus program)
- Distributes appropriate healthcare information to Carecor health care staff during facility site visits (i.e./ hand hygiene information and audit survey)
- Write, review and update policy and procedures related to the Healthcare Supervisor PSW role (e.g., training initiatives)
