Versatile carpentry skills are required. On any given day, the Carpenter will be tasked with any of the following, and perhaps more:

- carpentry - rough and finishing, interior and exterior
- door and window adjustments
- flooring

Experience and competence in multiple disciplines of home and building maintenance and repair are assets.
- drywall / mud / tape / texturing - new installations and repairs
- painting
- plumbing
- electrical
- landscaping
- cleaning / organizing and maintenance of shop, tools, equipment

An important part of the job is to effectively and efficiently utilize our work-order management system, using your smartphone. This is used for:

- Work-order assignment
- Tracking hours of work
- Tracking job expenses
- Tracking billable km in personal vehicle
- Recording pictures and notes of the job before, during, and after work performed. Noting all important details of the problem, the way in which it was solved, final results, materials and products used, etc.
- Job status
- And more.

Additional tasks to be taken on when work orders are not scheduled include, but are not limited to:

- Clean shop
- Organize tools, equipment, inventory.
- Clean, organize, perform maintenance on equipment, tools, etc.
- Estimate preparation
- Form, pour, finish concrete products
- Hand out cards, door hangers, etc.
- Training
- Contacting customers

It is expected that Maintenance Technicians of all disciplines will strive to find better ways to accomplish the things we are tasked with, and communicate those to colleagues and management. To seek out information, and to recognize and act when something needs to be done.
