**Arena Operator - Part Time**

The TGCA is looking for a part-time Arena Operator. Offering 2 shifts per week, (16 hours + some on call availability), September through March. This is great opportunity for some one looking for a casual part time position.

Back to back evening shifts 5pm-1am.

Tuesday/Wednesday, Wednesday/Thursday, or Thursday/Friday.

Spring/summer hours will vary.

Arena experience is considered an asset and applicants with Arena Level 1 certification will have top consideration. WHIMIS and First Aid knowledge is desired but not mandatory.

This is a self-starting, hands-on, highly autonomous position where you will primarily be working on your own. The position requires punctuality, time management of ice rentals, tasks, and responsibilities.

Must have a Class 5 (or equivalent) license with reliable transportation or live within walking distance, as we operate outside of transit hours.

Must have experience driving or heavy vehicle operating experience.

Under direction of the arena manager, job tasks and responsibilities primarily include but are not limited to:

- Ice resurfacing using an Olympia ice resurfacing vehicle (Zamboni).
- Janitorial duties: Sweeping, mopping, cleaning washrooms, showers and fixtures, changing garbage's, floor scrubbing, waxing, recycling and general facility cleaning.
- Building maintenance: Minor electrical repairs, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and preventative maintenance.
- Liaise with renters and patrons regarding community facilities and concerns.
- Document discrepancies and occurrences to report to management.
- Daily inspection of ammonia refrigeration plant.
- Grounds keeping, mowing, snow removal, litter clean up, etc.
- Building security: Perimeter patrols, checking doors. Open and/or closing the building.
- Other assigned duties.

Responsible, as an employee, for health & safety under the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA). This includes, but is not limited to:

- Working safely within the law and safe work practices/procedures (understanding and following standard operating procedures, wearing personal protective equipment, using MSDS information, ensuring all guards are in place).
- Immediately reporting unsafe acts, conditions, or contraventions of the OHSA to the Arena Manager.
- Maintaining a clean, orderly and safe work area at all times.

Vulnerable sector check is required.

Starting wage: $19 per hour, dependent on experience.

Anticipated start: September 2025

Training will be completed within in the final two weeks of August if applicable.

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
