Research & Development Technician

This newly created R&D Technician primarily supports the broader Research and Development team to develop high quality products and the commercialization of our customer’s products along with maintaining Tradition’s sampling programs and the lab environment.
**As part of the team you will**:
- Assist with the development of high quality bakery and snack products
- Provide batching and sample preparation support
- Support customer and production trials
- Work with the team to support continuous improvement initiatives for ingredients and processes
- Prepare demonstration samples and prototypes for customers as requested
- Support sample shipments to customers and business partners
- Keep the product development lab in a state of general order and cleanliness.
- Support team documentation requirements
- Other R&D duties as required from time to time
**What will make you successful**:
- Post secondary diploma/degree in Food Science or a related field
- 2+ years experience in a similar role would be considered an asset
- Pastry experience is a definite asset
- Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment (HACCP)
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize on a regular basis
- Excellent customer service orientation
- Must be able to work independently with a high degree of self initiative
