We are searching for an experienced **Human Resources Manager**to join the Cardinal team on an 18-month contract.

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, The Human Resources Manager will provide business partner support across all Cardinal locations in Ontario and Quebec. Success in this role requires someone with previous experience in the Transportation industry, is results-driven, highly motivated, a great communicator, and who has exceptional leadership skills. Bilingual (French/English) is highly desireable.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing human resources expertise across all business channels, this expertise includes employee relations, talent acquisition, engagement, compensation, and compliance.

This challenging position will require you to be both strategic and hands on, while building critical relationships with leaders, employees, and vendors, providing solutions that have a direct impact on our business.

**Some of the key responsibilities include**:

- Leading, motivating and mentoring a small but mighty team
- Provide exceptional and timely coaching and consulting to business leaders across the organization through direction, support and guidance on all people related issues
- Identify, evaluate, and resolve employee relations issues that foster collaboration and improved performance while mitigating risk
- Administer employee hires, changes, terminations, and leaves, working closely with the Payroll function utilizing Ceridian’s Dayforce system
- Conduct workplace investigations
- Partner with our Safety and Compliance team to ensure compliance with programs and training
- Demonstrate Cardinal’s core values and ensure that all decisions, programs, and processes are aligned with the organization’s goals
- Focus on driving employee engagement, while celebrating our diversity by ensuring our processes and practices are inclusive
- Oversight of the Talent Acquisition function and partner with the business to develop, implement and evaluate our talent acquisition strategy and onboarding program
- Maintain current knowledge of all relevant legislation, and, with the Vice President, Human Resources, ensure organizational reporting compliance
- Educate leaders on related HR legal and regulatory matters and ensure HR policies are aligned
- Proactively partner with the business to understand critical business priorities and provide advice and guidance regarding HR implications
- Contribute to continuous improvement ideas to enhance HR tools and processes
- Exercise strong analytical skills using data to develop recommendations; demonstrated ability to define and measure success of programs and initiatives

**Requirements**:

- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources and/or an undergraduate degree with a post-graduate degree/diploma or certificate in Human Resources
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP/CHRL) designation preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a business partner role and 1 - 2 years in a leadership role
- Previous experience in the Transportation industry
- Superior problem-solving skills, ability to demonstrate agility in creating valuable solutions to complex issues quickly
- Tactful and effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with all levels within the organization and influence as required
- Strong analytical skills: ability to digest complex issues and simplify to enable appropriate action
- Conflict resolution experience is highly desirable
- Self-motivated, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability of work with a minimum of supervision to manage, organize and prioritize work to adhere to critical deadlines
- Team player, strong listening skills and ability to adapt to change
- Excellent working knowledge of employment law (i.e., Canada Labour Code, Human Rights)
- Bilingual French/English
- Cardinal Operations include day, evening, and night shifts. This role may be required to shift their work schedule to accommodate and support business needs. Shift flexibility is needed for this role
