Circle of Eagles Lodge Society, an Indigenous based Community Residential Facility is currently hiring full time, part time, and relief House Support Workers.

The House Support Worker is part of the Community Management Team (CMT) working with Brothers and Sisters in reacclimatizing back into the community from Federal Institutions.

**House Support Worker Responsibilities**:

- ability to work alone and within a team environment
- ability to supervise, empathize and possess good counseling techniques
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- have a good knowledge of computer software, including, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft

Office 365
- ensure that the Brothers and Sisters are adhering to their parole conditions as set out by the Parole Board of Canada
- ensures that the Brothers and Sisters are abiding by the house rules, their parole conditions and regulations outlined in the policy and procedures manual and Statement of Work
- strong working knowledge of the Indigenous community and its resources to assist the

Brothers and Sisters find the resources that will assist them as they make their way into the community
- possess a calm, non-judgmental attitude to the Brothers and Sisters served
- maintain confidentiality
- ensure that reasonable and adequate supervision is always maintained
- ability to maintain daily logs, reporting conduct and behavior of residents living within the facility
- light janitorial duties including packing rooms, and cleaning duties
- disbursement of medications and maintaining accurate medication logs
- ability to maintain the cleanliness and livability of the lodge to ensure that the needs of the individuals are met
- ability to cook nutritious appetizing meals following the Canada’s Food Guide recommendations for healthy living
- ability to respond to the needs of the individuals and a strong ability to maintain calm should emergency situations arise, i.e.: fire, medical, death, threatening behavior, etc.
- ensure that positive communication is maintained between residents, guests, parole officers and staff
- able to work as part of the Case Management Team and able to supervise and ensure that the individual(s) assigned to him/her are following their release plans and intervention plans
- attends all staff meetings, house meetings, and training as required, including mandatory five days paid training per fiscal year
- attend all mandatory staff and house meetings reporting to the House Manager(s) who reports to Management
- perform other tasks and duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Preference is given to persons of Indigenous descent.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required. Working towards obtaining / or currently having a degree in counselling, criminology, or social work is ideal.
- respect of Indigenous cultures and traditions
- a wellness plan in place and committed to balancing their medicine wheel.

**Requirements**:

- First Aid training including CPR and AED
- Food Safe Level 1
- Class 5 driver’s license is preferred
- Enhanced Security Clearance with Corrections Services Canada required for this position
- Must provide verification of TB skin test or obtain one within 30 days of start date
- Able to work shift work which may include 0800 - 1600, 1600 - 2400, or 2400 - 0800

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $21.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Night shift
