Mountain View Veterinary is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are a Fear Free certified, busy, fast-paced small animal practice that also has great work-life balance. In addition to being a family practice for our wonderful clients, we also do a significant amount of work with some amazing local rescue organizations which is both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

**Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- Answering the phone, booking in appointments, checking in and out clients
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents
- General cleaning duties; cleanliness of reception area, patient wards, and common areas
- Taking the animals’ vital signs; including measuring the animals’ weight, blood pressure, respiratory rate, temperature
- Aid on duty Doctors during exams and surgical preparation
- Issuing Invoices and taking payments
- Reception and back of house shifts on a rotational basis

**Required Skills**:

- Enjoy working with people and being part of a fun team.
- Cornerstone knowledge is preferred, but not required.
- Be proactive and take initiative to work effectively without supervision.
- Ability to perform proper restraint methods on small animals.
- Ability to lift and restrain large dogs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willing to become a Fear Free Certified Professional.

**Experience**:

- Graduation from a recognized VOA/VA program; or a minimum of 2 years experience

You must be comfortable working in all areas of the hospital and flexible when it comes to tasks and responsibilities. Everyone in our team pitches in to provides the best care and client experience possible. Saturday work will be required on a rotational basis, on Sunday’s and holidays our hospital is closed.
