Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a position open in multiple locations. The Category Manager must help lead the Imperial Dade’s Commercial Go-To-Market Transformation. Imperial Dade established the Category Management function within the organization to drive full ownership of the product categories from strategy to execution. Specifically, the Category Manager role is responsible for setting the vision / strategy / execution plan for a complex product portfolio. They must define the “strategy cascade” for their portfolio by establishing: Where to Play, How to Win, and what Capabilities & Tracking are needed to deliver against their specific financial plan. The product portfolio identified could be one or more of Food Contact Packaging, Industrial Packaging, Towel & Tissue or Chemicals

The Category Manager will be seen as the “business owner” of their respective product categories and must achieve specific financial targets to ensure their product portfolio supports Imperial Dade’s overall strategy and goals.

Le ou la Chef de Catégorie doit diriger la transformation du processus de mise en marché des produits de Imperial Dade. Imperial Dade doit créer cette fonction au sein de l’organisation afin de confier au titulaire la pleine responsabilité des catégories de produits, de la stratégie à l’exécution.

De manière plus précise, le ou la Chef de Catégorie doit développer une vision, une stratégie et un plan de mise en œuvre pour un portefeuille moyennement complexe de produits. Il ou elle doit élaborer une stratégie d’implantation en déterminant : Quel Marché, Comment Gagner et Quelles Capacités et Mesures de Suivi requises pour respecter leur plan financier spécifique Le portefeuille de produits en question englobe les produits d’emballage alimentaire, emballage industriel, papier sanitaire ou produits chimiques.

Ce Chef de Catégorie sera considéré comme la « responsable commerciale » des catégories de produits qui lui sont attribuées et devra atteindre des objectifs financiers précis et être aligner et supporter les stratégies et buts globaux de Imperial Dade

To accomplish this they must manage the product lifecycles within their respective portfolio. They will manage their category from product selection through end-of-life. Product Lifecycle management will include, but is not limited to:

- Product Innovation & Trends - Must establish product & innovation roadmaps
- Product Selection & Architecture - Responsible to create logical product architecture & positioning
- Pricing Targets / Cost Targets - Must influence pricing; and manage cost (both product)
- Product Programs - Establish a profitable, demand generating promotional plan; aligned with Imperial Dade goals
- Vendor Relationships - responsible for selecting, attracting, managing, and negotiating with vendors
- Category KPIs - responsible for strategy / KPIs for Private Brand and Core Products within category

The Category Manager will work closely across sales & marketing teams to ensure understanding and complete execution of the programs to drive sales. Activities will include product marketing, financial management, product lifecycle management, support for selling activities, implementing sales strategies, promotions and pricing/cost.

Responsiblities:

- Manages all aspects of product & vendor management including: strategy, programs to create demand, financials, cross functional & vendor relationships, product selection, negotiation and deal closure
- Financial management including item lifecycle, returns, margins recommendation, program dollars, terms & conditions, supported by Finance Team.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned product line
- Analyzes product category performance and makes decisions to maximize sales performance as well as income performance
- Develop product plans & strategy to stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignmen
