Planner/dispatcher

Truck It Personnel Services Inc is seeking a full-time planner/dispatcher to join one of the largest transportation companies in the GTA.

The Transportation Planner/ Dispatcher is accountable for the daily optimization of a delivery schedule template based on daily customer orders. Data analytics on key performance metrics is to be performed to maximize schedule efficiencies for both daily and future delivery schedule incorporation.

**Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to**:

- Maximize the efficiency of location-specific daily routing given a reference schedule
- Analyze the effectiveness of daily routing outcomes, highlighting opportunities for future daily and schedule scenarios with respect to operational and financial impacts
- Provide technical assistance in the use and operation of APN software
- Build reports to measure the effectiveness of the routing and suggest area of improvement to the DCs
- Coordinate with Scheduler team-mates to develop and enhance best practices among the team
- Other projects or duties as assigned

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Experience in a high-velocity distribution environment would be a strong asset
- 2 years experience
- Experience with APN or similar routing software solutions would be considered a strong asset
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
- Strong, interactive team player
- Integrative thinker and excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
- High initiative and self-motivation
- Ability to produce accurate and timely reports
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

Shifts:
Monday - Friday Afternoon shift: 6:am - 2:30pm
