- What you’ll be doing
- Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) is CIBC’s central point-of-contact with global prudential regulators. The Consultant, Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) reports to the Director, GRA. The Consultant works with the GRA team in fulfilling the mandate to advise on the governance and management of regulatory risk, the implementation of effective regulatory strategies and standards, and with internal and external communications concerning regulatory topics. You will also be responsible for providing general support to the Senior Director GRA and to the GRA team.

- How You’ll Succeed
- Support regulatory interactions that are complex in nature requiring attention to detail, an understanding of risk management practices and knowledge of financial services. You will support the coordination of deliverables to regulators including regulatory reviews, regulatory communication, meetings and ad hoc requests. Strong and effective relationships internal stakeholders are required to ensure their needs and expectations are met and if possible, exceeded.
- Reporting specialist: Lead production of reporting on regulatory matters and interactions for senior management and the Board. Partner with other CIBC LOBs to generate regular and ad hoc reporting for submission to regulators.
- Subject Matter Expert: Monitor regulatory developments that could affect CIBC’s business objectives; translating these developments for internal audiences including the implication of existing and proposed regulations, and, where required, assist in the development of responses to Regulators. Contribute to the team’s knowledge base by keeping up to date on developments within the industry including leading research efforts on specific topics.
- Strong Collaboration: You will establish and maintain positive working relationships with CIBC LOBs, Governance Groups and Compliance partners and help develop and implement an appropriate regulatory compliance culture and business processes that are effective, cost-efficient that help achieve business objectives.

- You can demonstrate experience in Financial Services with 2+ years in an advisory role and have an undergraduate degree in business, finance or knowledge of regulatory compliance, internal control, audit or legal matters. Experience with Microsoft Office (WORD and Excel) is preferred.
- You can demonstrate well-developed writing skills sufficient to creatively and precisely articulate ideas and opinions that involve analysis, interpretation, and assessment. It’s an asset if you have previous experience in Financial Services or working with regulators and have an understanding of recent regulatory developments.
