**THE OPPORTUNITY**

**Prominence Way Retirement Community**, located in **Calgary, Alberta** is actively seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our growing team.

Reporting to the **Executive Director**, the **Director of Care** will be responsible for planning, directing and supervising health care programs and services for residents, ensuring compliance with all Federal and Provincial regulations and following the standards as set out by CARNA.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Leading an interdisciplinary care team to achieve excellence in providing safe and quality care to residents
- Promoting and supporting evidence-based practice inclusive of Alberta Health, Alberta Health Services standards, and Signature standards
- Acting as a role model for staff and encouraging staff to explore innovative approaches to meet resident care goals
- Collaborating with community management team members to ensure coordination of services to promote the health and well-being of residents
- Promoting and participating in quality improvement programs
- Responsibility for fiscal planning and management of the care services department
- Human Resource Management for the care services team including: recruitment, ongoing monitoring and performance management activities as well as support and mentorship
- Effectively interacting with multiple internal/external stakeholders
- Achieving compliance to the various standards through internal and external audit processes
- Participating in an RN-On Call rotation; Participation in a Manager On Duty rotation

**WHO YOU ARE**
- Registered Nurse with active CARNA registration; Bachelor of Nursing preferred
- Current BCLS certification
- Knowledge of: Accreditation process, Continuing Care Health Service Standards and Accommodation Standards
- Proven leadership experience in a health care environment
- Experience managing people within a unionized environment is preferred
- Ability to navigate and manage electronic health records
- Ability to work well under pressure and able to handle change well
- Proactive thinking skills
- Good to excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office platforms
- Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

**ACCOMMODATION**:
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $112,000.00-$117,000.00 per year
