**Join Our Team at Darby Photos**
**About Us**
Darby Photos is a leading provider of School Photography, University Graduation, and Youth Sport Photography across British Columbia and into Alberta. We are a family-based company with a close-knit team and a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and exceptional customer service. Although we have grown significantly over the past decade, we remain committed to delivering the personalized, attentive experience of a small business.
Our team is made up of energetic, self motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and committed to exceeding expectations. Many team members take on a variety of roles and are actively involved in multiple areas of the business. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are dedicated to creating a workplace that brings out the best in every team member.
**Current Opportunity: Office Coordinator**
**Location**: South Surrey
**Type**: Full-Time, On-site
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety in their day, and can juggle multiple priorities with ease. Strong multitasking skills are essential, as you’ll often have several tasks underway at once, with new ones being added as others are completed. You will work closely with our existing team, support photographers and office staff, and help ensure daily operations stay on track. While our photography work is highly seasonal, this position is year round.
During our peak seasons, the pace is fast, energetic, and constantly changing. Tight deadlines and quick turnarounds are the norm, and there’s always a lot happening at once. We’re looking for someone who can take direction once and execute confidently while staying sharp and efficient in a lively, conversation-filled environment. You’ll need to stay aware of what’s happening around you, because in our office, a discussion across the room might impact your work just 20 minutes later, but that awareness can’t come at the expense of your own workflow. You must be able to **listen, adapt, and keep producing simultaneously**. Being a **strong multitasker is absolutely mandatory** in this role.
In the slower periods between seasons, the focus shifts to preparation and planning for the upcoming cycle, offering a more relaxed office rhythm while still staying productive and organized.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work collaboratively with the team in our South Surrey office
- Answer incoming calls and assist clients with questions or concerns
- Call clients to confirm booking details and prepare them for upcoming photo days
- Organize, clean, and format data provided by schools and sports teams
- Perform light image editing or cropping of photos (training provided)
- Maintain general office organization and help ensure deadlines are met
- Help schedule or assign tasks to team members as needed
- Work independently for long stretches, often being the only person in the office during parts of the day
**What We’re Looking For**
- A strong team player who is also comfortable and confident working independently without direct supervision and willing to be held accountable for the work completed at the end of a day.
- Highly self-motivated, able to anticipate tasks and act without needing to be asked
- Detail-focused with the ability to stay organized and on top of multiple priorities at once, a STRONG multitasker.
- Comfortable taking direction and able to follow through reliably
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and working with data
- Willingness to self-teach new tools or programs using online resources when needed
- Experience with image editing software (Photoshop or Lightroom) is an asset but not required
- Office management experience or comfort assigning and tracking tasks is a plus
- Full-time availability during daytime hours (exact schedule is flexible)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to commute to South Surrey reliably
- Must pass a criminal record check, due to working with student and minor data
**What We Offer**
- Competitive salary, based on experience
- Health benefits
- Flexible work hours
- In-depth training, including image editing skills
- Long-term growth opportunities within the company
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
**Benefits**:
- Casual dress
- Dental care
- Extended health care
- Flexible schedule
- On-site parking
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Surrey, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Language**:
- English (required)
Work Location: In person
Expected start date: 2025-07-02
