The Role
The Events Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests at events and weddings, serving food and beverages at various locations throughout the farm, and ensuring a pleasant and memorable experience for guests. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and serve beverages, including wine, beer, and cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic beverages.
- Serve food and clear tables throughout the event, ensuring that the event space is clean and well-maintained.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including bars, tables, chairs, decorations, and other equipment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and standards, including proper handling and storage of food and beverages.
- Operate point of sale systems and handle payments from guests.
- Maintain accurate records of sales and inventory.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with other staff members, including kitchen staff, event coordinators, banquet captains, and other servers and bartenders, to ensure that events run smoothly and efficiently.
- Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide recommendations and suggestions to guests for food and beverage selections, with a strong focus on Saunders cider sales.
- Uphold a high level of cleanliness and organization in the event space and behind the bar.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- SmartServe required.
- Previous experience working as a server and/or bartender in a fast-paced environment, preferably at events and weddings.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of guests and staff.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and the ability to prepare and serve them in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, and lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required licenses and certifications.
