We currently have an opportunity for a payroll administrator that is fully competent in Canadian payroll administration and has a background in US payroll administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Administer full cycle semi-monthly payrolls for US and Canada
- Preparing reports on Report Writer
- Respond effectively to requests payroll information by government agencies and auditors
- Work effectively with various departments to provide solutions and follow-up using well developed problem solving skills
- Accurately maintain payroll data including, but not limited, to information related to employee new hires, terminations, commissions, expenses, benefits, 401K’s and RRSP’s
- Ensure compliance with government legislation (US and Canada)
- Prepare and issue payroll remittances including quarterly American State returns, 401k, RRSP, Employee Share Ownership Plan
- Process of Records of Employment; Workers’ Compensation returns, W2’s, T4’s and other payroll document under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor
- Complete posting and reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts
- Actively participate ongoing reporting including month-end and year-end activities

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3-5 years of active Canadian and US payroll processing experience within a fast paced environment of over 1500 employees
- Preferable experience with ADP Pay at work Platform
- Accounting and/or Payroll Diploma or commensurate experience preferred
- A PCP and/or FPC certification is a definite asset
- Knowledge of government compliance regulations in the US and Canada
- A background in US Payroll administration that includes ACA knowledge, payroll administration; solid experience with 401K; overall experience in a company with over 50 employees is preferred
- Experience with acquisitions is an asset
- Ability to set priorities throughout the day, while also remaining customer focused
- Highly organized with an eye for detail and sound filing skills; strong time management skills
- Excellent written communication skills and listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Willingness to learn and the ability to learn on the fly
- Experience with various technology platforms and software; payroll systems, MS Office with an advanced ability working with Excel; HRIS software experience
