We are looking for a
**_collaborative _**and
**_solutions-oriented_** leader to join our Internal Services Business and Financial Planning Unit. In this role, you will
**_coach, guide and support_** a small but mighty team of 4 finance professionals in the delivery of strategic financial services to the Internal Service program areas, including budget planning, monitoring and reporting.
You will lead your team in the coordination of the month end and year end process which includes preparation of adjustments to financial statements to ensure statements reflect appropriate revenue and expenditure levels. You will analyze and monitor financial data, including financial forecasts and trends, identifying problem areas and providing solutions to the program’s management teams.

**Leadership**:
- Supervise the allocation of work and the day-to-day management of all aspects of budget management, business planning and financial control advisement
- Supervise the process of internal cost allocations on behalf of programs
- Supervise, plan for and analyze highly complex financial and business-related issues for management teams to help them make high level strategic decisions
- Supervise the complex self-insured benefits processes
- Deliver training sessions and presentations (as required) on processes
- Supervise staff (PA, performance issues, etc)
**Finance**:
- Co-ordination of budget deadlines, highly complex data processing, analysis and interpretation for the purpose of ensuring effective departmental financial control purposes for program operating and capital budgets of over $100 million
- Ensure that appropriate advice is being provided to non-financial budget managers by staff as per the Region’s financial management by-law, legislated requirements, and GAAP
- Present to management on a variety of procedures around financial control and issues
- Review and write council reports and advise programs on preparation of financial aspects of the reports
- Prepare complex ad-hoc and monthly reports for use in management decisions (departmental, divisional and sectional)
- Develop standard operating procedures and keep updated
- Recommend and contribute to the development of Financial Control systems to enable management to effectively deliver programs

**_A COLLABORATIVE LEADER and A SOLUTIONS ORIENTED FINANCE EXPERT as well as_**
- Graduation from a university or college
- A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA/CA/CGA/CMA)
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Evaluation and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
In this role you will have the ability to work mostly remote. You will be required to occasionally attend on-site meetings based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
**Hours of Work***: 35 hours per week**
