**Job Title**: Purchasing & Inventory Management Coordinator

**Reports to**: Materials Manager

**Position Overview**:
Working out of our manufacturing and distribution center in Scarborough, the Purchasing & Inventory Management Coordinator will focus on overall inventory planning and material management in order to achieve greater on time delivery, customer satisfaction, as well as supply chain efficiencies. As required, this role interacts and collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Design, Materials team, Production, Warehouse, Shipping and Finance with the goal of effective inventory management objectives and better manufacturing productivity. The Coordinator is also responsible for all purchasing related activities and communication with specific vendors/suppliers.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Manage and coordinate (with production staff) the process of receiving, storing and distributing materials
- Process and coordinate transactions into ERP system to maintain the accuracy of inventory, purchase orders, shipping orders, and other records; work with warehouse personnel to maintain accuracy and compliance with control and audit system
- Conduct accurate cycle counts as per schedule and compare results to system data; make adjustments based on established policies; investigate sources of negative inventory and suggest necessary actions
- Compile stock control records and current demand information to determine inventory levels and needs for replenishment
- Analyze and make recommendations to management regarding stock levels, item status and product deposition; plan and organize inventories
- Prepare requisitions for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items; create purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for timely availability of products
- Manage production reporting of manufactured items; manage warehouse system and maintain greater storage efficiency, location counts and accuracy
- Coordinate with vendors, 3PL and in-house departments to resolve any inventory discrepancies and invoice issues
- Determine and plan transfer of desired inventory from third party warehouse
- Review product tagging and signage for accuracy and completeness and initiate corrective actions
- Source, negotiate and purchase items for various projects and/or ongoing processes (e.g. pallets, printing, hardware, MRO, consumables, office supplies etc.)
- In conjunction with vendors, work to source parts for upcoming projects and develop strategy to source them JIT or as specified
- Coordinate and oversee the creation and receiving related to all maintenance and equipment POs; coordinate with service providers to schedule downtime
- Other duties as assigned

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Completed post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Operations/Manufacturing or related discipline
- 2+ years material planning, inventory management and purchasing experience required
- Experience in a small to mid-sized fabrication and assembly facility an asset
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills
- Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
- High level of time management and organizational skills; results oriented and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
- Good understanding of supply chain processes and their interdependencies
- Proficient with Inventory/Warehouse Management Systems and ERP; proficient with excel and MS office
- Knowledge or experience of using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems
- APICS CPIM certification or enrollment an asset
- Adaptable, and can adjust to changing needs of the business and operational requirements
