Job Summary:
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will play a key role in the expansion of Porter’s Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities. Our team’s goal is to ensure business units within the organization have access to the data they need to make informed and insightful decisions. We are looking for someone who has a strong analytical ability, likes to be inquisitive, and is passionate about data analytics and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Prototype, develop and support company-wide analytics and dashboards using Tableau.
- Design SQL queries that sift through large amount of data in the data warehouse to extract critical information that meet business needs.
Work closely with stakeholders from multiple teams (technical and nontechnical) in solving ambiguous problems through defining requirements, developing KPIs, and articulating solutions.
- Validate data quality and look for ways to automate recurring processes.
Train and provide support for users on business intelligence products.
- Proactively explore the data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote The Company Safety Policy.

Qualifications:

- 2+ years’ of experience in data analytics and/or business intelligence.
Bachelor’s degree in technology or business fields.
- Possess strong working knowledge of SQL to query and analyze large datasets.
- Experience in creating intuitive data visualizations using tools such as Tableau.
- Ability to wrangle data programmatically (using Python or equivalent) is preferred.
- Ability to convey complex ideas to a diverse audience.
Highly proactive, possess advanced problem-solving ability and critical thinking skills
