**Position Overview**

**Responsibilities and tasks**

Typical responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Review medical documents, such as patient records, treatment plans, lab reports, and diagnostic imaging results, to ensure completeness.
- Identify missing unclear information and collaborate with medical professionals and healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation or clarify existing information.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of medical documentation requirements.
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality by adhering to relevant privacy laws.
- Create and maintain a tracking system to monitor the status of document reviews and follow up on outstanding issues in a timely manner.
- Provide regular reports on the status of document reviews, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement best practices for medical document review, including the development of training materials and the provision of ongoing guidance to medical professionals and healthcare providers.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing improvement of medical documentation processes and systems.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree or certificate in a healthcare-related field, such as Health Information Management, Personal Support Worker, Nursing, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies and errors in complex documents.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with medical professionals, healthcare providers, and other team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of medical documentation.

**Qualifications (Desired)**

These qualifications are not required, but would be considered an asset:

- A minimum of 1 years of experience in a medical document review or medical records management role.
- Customer service experience
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital, clinic, or physician's office.
- Up-to-date knowledge of computer technology
- Time management
- Strong problem solving skills
- Post-secondary degree/diploma

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 - 40 per week

**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
