**Responsibilities**:
PRIMARY PURPOSE

Manages the operations, periodic inspection and maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of electric vehicle charging equipment. Ensures high level of availability of all CMBC electric vehicle charging infrastructure and equipment; and manages the planning, scheduling, and supervision of work to be performed.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provides direction, leadership and supervision of activities, such as operation, periodic inspection and maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of electrical charging equipment. Plans, prioritizes and schedules work to be performed by employees and outside contractors, including repairs, inspections, tests and regular maintenance of electrical vehicle charging stations, infrastructure and associated underground feeder cables to minimize disruption of power supply.

Participates in the design of electric vehicle charging stations, infrastructure and component layout, including preparing/recommending layout and equipment specifications and participating in Project Team meetings for planning the projects and evaluating the tenders, identifying and designing special charging equipment/components requirements, reviewing and recommending components submitted for product approval; overseeing acquisitions and condition assessments of various pieces of equipment and identifying non-inventory items required for overall maintenance.

Manages projects of varying scope. Participates in the development of project budgets, monitors expenses, identifies and corrects variances, verifies and approves invoices for payment within spending authority. Participates in determining project requirements, potential issues and appropriate solutions, and prepares cost and resource (staff, contractors etc.) estimates.

Provides supervision (if commissioning of new electric vehicle charging infrastructure is required) by establishing work priorities and conducting status reviews to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget; meeting and communicating with all staff, contractors and agencies to ensure project’s overall progress and to resolve issues; checking construction against “as built” drawings and overseeing various tests; coordinating site availability for construction; monitoring work to ensure construction safety standards are met; and preparing acceptance reports.

Arranges for alternate power supply to electric vehicle charging stations during prolonged BC Hydro outages or emergency situations. Provides guidance during electric vehicle charging station emergency situations to workers and contractors, and recommends actions to neutralize safety-sensitive situations. Provides advice to Municipal fire and Emergency crews attending the scene regarding electrical hazards.

Monitors and ensures compliance with BC Safety Authority and other code/regulatory requirements. Manages and ensures electrical workers are qualified and trained.

Participates in the Safety Committee meetings. Writes Lockout procedures and safe work procedures for electric vehicle charging station equipment and infrastructure.

Participates in the selection, training and performance management of employees and/or contractors and establishes/approves safe work practices, recommending operating procedures as appropriate.

**Qualifications**:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Diploma or Degree in electrical engineering, plus Field Safety Representative (FSR) certification Level A or eligible to register as an FSR certification Level A. Requires a minimum of five (5) years electrical engineering experience in preventative maintenance program activities including planning, inspections, testing and electrical equipment service work and experience working with a unionized labour force.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced knowledge of electric vehicles and trolley buses in a transit environment.

Advanced knowledge of high-power mobile diesel generators.

Good knowledge of IEEE, NETA and CSA standards relating to electrical vehicle charging equipment

Good knowledgeable of high volt
