About the Role
The Purchasing Manager will identify, source, and foster new and existing supply and equipment vendors and relationships. The successful incumbent will also oversee, negotiate, and implement supply and production strategies and agreements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors on price, contract terms, conditions, and supplier consignment
- Seek out and partner with reliable operational vendors and sustain long-term and professional relationships with them
- Oversee the development and execution of RFP’s and sourcing strategies across all product categories, new equipment, cultivation supplies and materials, product ingredients, packaging, warehouse, and corporate supplies, indirect purchases, and services
- Support purchasing planning and predict material availability and pricing by collecting and analyzing marketing data and trends
- Develop procurement processes and to support key business objectives
- Evaluate and select suppliers to meet business objectives including proper certifications and testing
- Ensure that vendors are compliant with licensing obligations, delivery procedures, and payment handling
- Responsible for maintaining the purchasing budget and creating cost saving budgeting plans
- Verify and maintain records of all orders, payments, and received stock
- Resolve complaints from vendors and solves purchasing problems
- Manage the supply chain of products, inventory, replenishment planning, and purchase order management.
- Monitor inventory levels very closely and resolves any issues that may become apparent
- Track and report on key metrics to reduce expenses and ensure on-time inventory
- Ensure problems related to delivery, quality, or pricing are promptly conveyed to the supplier and resolved in a timely manner
- Develop supplier protocols, supplier selection, and procurement processes
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- 5-7 years of direct oversight and managerial experience in a Purchasing/Buyer capacity within a manufacturing or CPG environment
- Post-Secondary education in Operations, or a closely relevant field
- Strong process development and management skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience using supply chain management and ERP software and tools, with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, preparing procurement analysis and developing and implementing policy enforcement processes and monitoring internal service provider KPI’s
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with leadership team, and to client users whilst troubleshooting, proposing proactive solutions
- Experience with project management; planning, organizing, and managing resources
