**PROFILE**

The Regis St. Michael’s Faculty of Theology is a part of the Toronto School of Theology, an ecumenical consortium of seven theological schools affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Faculty is committed to theological teaching and research that is interdisciplinary, ecumenical and sensitive to multi-faith and multicultural contexts. It seeks to form students for service in Church and society through faithful and rigorous scholarship grounded in the Catholic intellectual tradition. The Met. Andrey Sheptytsky Institute of Eastern Christian Studies (MASI) expands the Faculty’s teaching and research programs to include Eastern Christian theological traditions. The Institute is a centre of higher learning, research, ecumenical understanding and prayer which is committed to educating both men and women - laity, religious and clergy - in Eastern Christian Studies.

The Chaplain and Programming Coordinator animates the Eastern Christian worship and spiritual life of the Sheptytsky Institute, while supporting the Executive Director of the Institute in administrative matters and academic programming.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Coordinate and lead daily chapel services in MASI Institute chapel. May include occasional liaising with Regis St. Michael’s Faculty of Theology Liturgy Committee.
- Oversee Eastern Catholic Student chaplaincy. May include occasional liaising with the Univ. of St. Michael’s College (USMC) chaplaincy.
- Facilitate ecumenical collaboration with other Eastern Orthodox communities at the Toronto School of Theology and the University of Toronto.
- Assist Director, MASI in coordinating community-facing Institute activities (for e.g. Study Days, public lectures and events).
- Ability to work evenings and weekends to support MASI programming and events.
- Assist Director in managing continuing education initiatives for lay and ordained faithful.
- Where necessary, provide assistance in student advising for the Faculty of Theology for students in Eastern Christianity.
- Manage MASI website, mailing list and social media accounts. May require occasional collaboration with USMC and Regis St. Michael’s Communications.
- Support Director in recruitment activities, along with collaboration with the Faculty of Theology Recruitment & Enrolment officer.
- Engage, where required, in consultations with the RSM Awards Committee on financial aid and bursaries for basic degree students in Eastern Christian studies.
- Oversee or provide administrative support to _Logos: A Journal of Eastern Christian Studies_.
- Engage in MASI development activities in coordination with Director and Sheptytsky Institute Foundation.
- Briefs the Director on internal and external issues to ensure that he is kept abreast of key situations and to ensure that relevant information is communicated
- May be required to attend MASI Institute Council as non-voting member.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Graduate degree in theology (e.g. Th.M., STL, Ph.D., D.Min., etc.).
- Demonstrated support of mission of MASI, as an official project of the Ukrainian Catholic Bishops of Canada located in a Catholic Faculty of Theology.
- Ability to lead liturgical services in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and therefore a priest in good standing in an Eastern Catholic Church of the Byzantine tradition.
- The ability to collaborate with others in the Institute, and with other departments of the University of St Michael’s College, especially with the Dean and the Faculty of Theology.
- Must be able to work on own initiative while contributing as a member of a team.
