The Role:
Rakuten Kobo is looking for an experienced low code/no code engineer to join to join the Business Operations group to lead the development of a low-code tooling team to support the continuous improvement and automation of business processes.
The Scope:
Responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining low-code solutions for improving business workflows.
Key Accountabilities:
Key Activities:
- Design & Develop low-code tooling solutions
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for low-code solutions to business processes
- Work collaboratively with business operations teams and R&D developers and architects to design and develop the solutions
- Support a team of low-code developers and act as a project manager or Scrum master to build and enhance Kobo Business Operations processes.
- Act in a developer capacity responsible for building and designing features and tools using ReTool or other low-code solutions
- Juggle multiple priorities at once and stay focused on the most important tasks at hand.
- When required, develop code utilizing modern development practices such as CICD and agile methodologies
Monitoring & Maintenace:
- Participate in system upgrade and support activities as needed
- Create dashboard and reports to track outcomes and effectiveness of tools
Mentor more junior members of the team:
- Provide leadership, advice and guidance to help solve any technological problems which arise.
- Develop and update documentation for tools
- Provide training materials to ensure team members and end users can use and support programs as needed
- Mentor junior developers and analysts to grow low-code skills of their own
- Provide code-review and QA for other low-code tools output
The Skillset:
- Very strong knowledge or experience with SQL, Python, JavaScript, and general Web 2.0 techniques
- Experience leading teams or mentoring junior developers using low-code solutions
- Experience with Git
- Experience with UX/UI design
- Sound knowledge of ITIL an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a distributed team environment.
- Strong self-starter with a desire for continuous learning
- Strong desire to produce high quality business solutions
- Experience working with stakeholders to capture and define requirements and propose and deliver technical solutions
- Specific experience with ReTool or Zendesk preferred
- Experience provisioning, designing, constructing and maintaining cloud-based enterprise systems an asset
