Assistant Bookkeeper for Small Medical Manufacturer

We are a small company in the medical manufacturing, sales and service industry, in New Westminster near Skytrain. Our products and services are sold on prescription to various government agencies and other purchasers, and we are considered “medically essential.” Our goal is to provide exceptional equipment and service to children and adults with significant physical disabilities, and our reputation comes from over 25 years of faithful industry service.
Now we are expanding to meet increasing demand, and need an energetic and active Assistant to work with our senior Bookkeeper. A significant knowledge and experience of bookkeeping is required. The main duty initially will be assisting with full-cycle Accounts Payable, investigating and correcting account discrepancies, and general accounting support.
**Desired qualifications**:
- minimum 1 - 2 years experience in accounting / bookkeeping
- post-secondary training in bookkeeping / accounting will be an asset
- strong numeracy
- knowledge of Quickbooks
- MS Word and Excel proficiency
- ablility to learn about about the healthcare equipment industry
- compassion for the needs of people with disabilities
- willingness to help wherever needed in a small operation
**Remuneration**:
$45,000 to start, or commensurate with training and experience for advanced applicants.
