X-Copper is a leading law firm, specializing in traffic and criminal offenses. We are a mid-sized organization with various branches throughout Ontario.

We are currently looking for a HR Coordinator to join our Head Office team in Markham

As the HR Coordinator you will be responsible for a broad range of HR functions and should be familiar with relevant legislation, labour laws & best practices.

The HR Coordinator will be the first point of contact for staff and external partners. They will act as a liaison between the various different departments and branches of the firm.

**KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Facilitate the on-boarding, orientation & training of new staff
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date personnel files for over 60 staff
- Administer group health benefits & liability insurance policies
- Manage time-off requests & leave of absences
- Finalize any terminations, lay-offs & other duties related to off-boarding
- Assist in conducting performance reviews & implement any updates accordingly
- Consult on disciplinary matters & provide recommendations on the best course of action
- Coordinate with the Accounting department for payroll purposes; salaries, hours, bonuses, expense reports, ROE’s, etc.
- Maintain all corporate policies - review & renew on an annual basis to ensure compliance with current legislative & labour law requirements
- Facilitate employee incentive programs & organize corporate events
- Develop & implement HR strategies that support the corporate culture and goals of the firm
- Maintain organized & detailed records for decision making purposes

**REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**:

- College Diploma or University Degree in relevant area of practice - HR Management, Business Administration/Management or other related fields
- Minimum 1- 2 years of previous HR experience - with prior experience in recruitment
