**Position Overview**:
The Day Shift Plating Line Operator is responsible to accurately and efficiently operate specific plating line to deliver high quality standards on a variety of production jobs. A clear knowledge of manufacturing processes, attention to detail and self-accountability is critical to success in this role. The operator follows processes that is used to treat varying products and exercises good judgement on the quality while maintaining safety and productivity standards.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Manually load materials from time to time by hand onto the plating line. Components typically weigh less than 25 lbs;
- Follow plating line standard operating procedures for safe and accurate operation;
- Operate forklift on an ad-hoc basis to load/unload line and/or trucks safely;
- Operate manual hardness quality testing equipment and document results;
- Responsible to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the plant to prevent hazards and ensure production is always “tour” ready - sweeping, cleaning and organizing area;
- Assist walk-in customers in completing tickets during the drop-off process from time to time;
- Communicate quality, safety and production challenges, provide suggestions for improvement;
- Prepare all required paperwork to support production planning and quality control;
- Work with other team members to elevate and resolve any production related issues;
- Communicate effectively to the incoming shift on production status to ensure that customer needs are met.
**Position Requirements**:
- High School, and/or some Post-secondary education required, and 2 years experience in manufacturing or a combination of education and experience;
- The ability and desire to obtain a forklift certification - training offered;
- The ability and desire to learn crane operation - training offered;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to meet critical deadlines in an effective manner;
- Self-motivated, high energy team player with ability to work with mínimal supervision.

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
