Shipper / Forklift Operator - Large Scale

**Position Summary**:

We are currently recruiting a **Shipper / Forklift Operator **to join us in our K2 location in Edmonton.

Reporting to the Warehouse Coordinator, the Shipper is responsible for the storage and flow of goods that are produced and then shipped off to distributors. Since perishable goods have a shelf life and must be moved in a timely fashion, the shipper is also responsible for ensuring that the frozen products are rotated and organized in the freezer in a timely manner, so as to prevent code dating. The Shipper works as part of the Warehouse Team by palletizing, wrapping and documenting shipping transactions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensures all Company policies and procedures are met and maintained, including but not limited to: Operational Procedures, Health & Safety Standards, HACCP, BRC, Food Safety, Gluten Free and Kosher regulations and requirements.
- Completed daily safety checks on equipment and operates in a safe manner
- Keeps work area neat and tidy, cleans up after self
- Plans order building ahead of shipment dates, handling multi orders
- Places products in freezers according to schematic, moving older products to be most accessible and picked first
- Rotates/organizes stock to ensure expiry dates are sequential
- Performs inventory counts as needed, measuring discrepancies between spreadsheet estimations and actual counts of inventory on hand
- Checks all trucks for cleanliness, damage, temperature of trailer, product placement
- Assists other areas with lift operations, equipment usage
- Picks, palletizes, wraps and labels orders for shipment readiness
- Stocks and builds pallets in a manner that will ensure safe transport
- Completes all documentation necessary for shipment
- Ensures shipments are ready for carriers, eliminating delays and wait time charges

**Qualifications and Skills Required**:

- Fluent written/verbal communications skills in the English Language
- Certification in transport equipment operation (forklifts, hand-jacks, power-jacks)
- Good mathematics, computer skills, accurate documentation skills
- Previous Shipping/Receiving training/experience an asset
- Ability to analyze, anticipate and forecast needs; plan ahead
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, plan workload
- Prioritizing work to meet the demands of the production floor
- Resourceful in finding solutions, using problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with a multicultural workgroup

**Equipment Used**:
Forklifts (stand-up & sit-down); power jacks, hand jacks, pallet wrappers

**Shift**:6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (infrequent overtime possible)
