**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator, working from our headquarters in Victoria, BC, who will report directly to the Senior IT Manager. In this role you’ll be responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure, which supports our mission of revolutionizing the background screening industry. The role includes managing user and device setups, onboarding, off-boarding, and maintaining operational flow and security compliance.

Success in this role means swiftly addressing IT issues with sharp problem-solving skills, minimizing disruptions to operations. Your ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical team members will come in handy to ensure smooth collaboration across departments, fostering streamlined processes. Furthermore, whether independently troubleshooting or collaborating within a team, your flexibility and collaborative spirit will help ensure efficient problem resolution and implementation of solutions, leading to optimized IT operations.

Note - Due to the dynamic nature of this role, the Junior Systems Administrator will primarily work from our Victoria (BC) office approximately 80% or more of the time, to ensure effective collaboration and support within our team. Flexibility to work from home may be provided from time to time, but will be based on business needs.

**As our Junior Systems Administrator, you can expect to**:
**_ User Lifecycle Management:_**
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the organization's IT infrastructure, including workstations, to ensure smooth and efficient operation, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, setting up user accounts, configuring access permissions, and providing and configuring IT equipment as needed.
- Ensure a smooth and secure process for employees entering and exiting the organization, safeguarding company data while providing necessary tools and access for their roles.

**_ Helpdesk Support:_**
- Provide timely technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues to ensure uninterrupted productivity.
- Manage and prioritize responses to employee inquiries via the Jira ticketing system, maintaining overall system functionality and user satisfaction.

**_ Documentation and Training Development:_**
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes during migration processes for troubleshooting, compliance, and future reference.
- Develop IT-related training resources and document training to empower employees with the necessary knowledge and skills for efficient IT resource utilization.

**_ Collaborative IT Solutions and Support:_**
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify areas for improvement and optimization in IT systems and practices, driving innovation and adaptation to evolving organizational needs.
- Provide cover for some responsibilities during the absence of the Senior Systems Administrator to ensure uninterrupted critical IT functions.
- Support the implementation of system upgrades, patches, and security updates to keep the organization's technology secure and up-to-date.
- Assist in basic office operations to ensure smooth daily functioning and an efficient work environment for employees.

- Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in an Information Technology related field OR possess certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Google IT Support Professional Certificate.
