Algae Culture Biologist

**Job Summary**
We are seeking an algae biologist whose main responsibility will be to undertake the production of the microalgae food required to feed all the stages of the animals that are reared, conduct and undertake research and development activities into various aspects of the culture of algae and shellfish biology, supervise hatchery technicians, undertake equipment cleaning, maintenance and small repairs, and assist in other day to day shellfish culture and other hatchery related activities

This position requires the ability to work flexible hours and days.
- **Qualifications**:
Applicants must:

- Have a minimum of a B.Sc. in Aquaculture, Biology or related degree
- Experience in a commercial scale shellfish hatchery
- At least 5 years experience in large scale microalgae culture
- Have meticulous attention to detail
- Have good laboratory and work space habits
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be energetic, self motivated and a strong team player
- Be computer literate
- Good record keeping habits
- First aid certification would be an advantage

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

- 8 hour shift
