We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) Speech-Language Pathologist. VBS is expanding to meet the needs of families in Windsor Essex. Within the Ontario Autism Program and as part of Core Clinical Services, VBS is looking to offer an integrated service for families which includes Speech-Language Pathology and Behavioural Services. This position will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to develop programs for clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Provide screenings, assessment consultation and intervention across the scope of SLP practice including speech and language development, augmentative and alternative communication, feeding and swallowing, saliva management, fluency, dysarthria etc.
- Provide direct in-home intervention for the clients and implement programs according to a treatment plan, record data, and document session notes.
- Provide virtual and in-person individual and group treatment in client homes or in the community for children and youth with autism
- As part of an integrated team, contribute to the client’s curriculum development and programming; collaborate and deliver services to children and youth with ASD, including attending meetings with families, educators and involved community service providers
- Participate in staff, team and program meetings and share knowledge of profession and scope of practice
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients and family.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Attend trainings to acquire further knowledge.

**Qualifications**:
Required:

- Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
- Clinical experience working with a diverse child and youth population.
- Strong collaborative practice with experience working closely with Behavioural services and other disciplines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to quickly establish trusting relationships, and ability to receive and incorporate feedback and advanced self-reflection skills.
- Advanced knowledge of the characteristics of ASD, CP, DS, and similar diagnoses.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate outcomes.
- Mature and consistent approach with strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective computer skills and the ability to learn/use data collection software.
- Access to a computer and reliable internet.
- An ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Eager to learn and work on continuous improvement.
- Valid Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel within Windsor Essex County

Preferred:

- Current certification in First Aid and CPR
- Individual Authorizer for Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices
