**Working for the School of Public Health**
The School of Public Health (SPH) is in the process of expanding it’s undergraduate course offering. SPH successfully launched SPH 200 in the 20234/24 academic year, with over 700 students enrolled. SPH will continue this success by adding a winter semester class of SPH 200, as well as an additional 2 300-level courses. In the 2025/26 academic year, another 2-3 300-level courses will added.
**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Associate Dean Education and working closely with the Committee for Educational Policies and Programs (CEPP), the Curricular Support & Management Officer will provide pedagogical guidance and coordination for the School of Public Health’s undergraduate and graduate programs. This includes developing and mapping curricula across courses, supporting faculty with new course design and assessment strategies, and ensuring alignment with accreditation and institutional standards. Depending on expertise and interest, the incumbent may also teach within the School’s professional practice offerings.
**Duties**
- Map and maintain living documentation of program curricula, ensuring logical progression and accreditation alignment across undergraduate and graduate offerings.
- Collaborate with program directors to close competency gaps and eliminate course overlap, using curriculum-mapping data to steer targeted revisions.
- Guide faculty through evidence-based design of new courses, crafting learning outcomes, content scope, assessments, and teaching materials.
- Shepherd new and revised course proposals through CEPP and other governance bodies, managing timelines and approval documentation.
- Coordinate pilot launches of new courses, gathering student and instructor feedback to refine content and delivery.
- Lead accreditation preparations and cyclical program reviews, compiling evidence, drafting reports, and responding to external reviewers.
- Develop and implement quality-assurance tools—standardized rubrics, peer observations, and feedback dashboards—to sustain high instructional standards.
- Analyze course-evaluation and performance data, and convene “curriculum retreats” that turn findings into continuous program improvements.
- Coach instructors on assessment design, inclusive pedagogy, and learning technologies (e-learning platforms, VR, AI tools).
- Design and deliver faculty-development workshops and create self-paced teaching resources to build instructional capacity across the School.
- Teach or co-teach professional-practice courses and guest lectures, integrating experiential and case-based learning with formative feedback.
- Represent the School on university committees and external networks, translating policy changes and workforce trends into timely curricular updates.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Graduate degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Relevant Research Experience (5+ years) in an academic, government, or industry setting, demonstrating expertise in planning, executing, and/or supporting diverse research initiatives.
- Grant Funding and Administration Knowledge: Familiarity with major funding agencies (e.g., Tri-Council), proposal development processes, and post-award management; experience with research ethics and compliance requirements is an asset.
- Project Management Skills: Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate complex projects or initiatives, ideally within a higher-education or research context.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, students, administrators, government bodies, and community organizations, building and maintaining productive partnerships.
