Job Description: The Manager, Total Rewards leads Honda Canada’s compensation and benefits planning and administration functions. The incumbent provides strategic and tactical guidance to the organization on company compensation and benefits programs, including salary and bonus programs, pension plan administration, and health benefits’ programs. The incumbent will leverage their knowledge of compensation, pension, and benefits’ plan designs and administration, and understanding of emerging issues and best practices, to identify, develop and implement innovative solutions that help create, promote, develop, and sustain a strong employment value proposition for Honda Canada’s associates. * RESPONSIBILITIES: * - Brings deep understanding and experience in the planning and administration of compensation, pension and benefits’ programs. - Builds strong working partnerships with other HR team members, company finance and accounting professionals, and business stakeholders, to ensure the effective implementation of compensation, pension and benefits policies and programs. - Manages annual compensation and equity review process; ensures that the processes are executed according to established timelines and plans. - Oversees the design and renewal of benefit plans, performing periodical plan reviews, and market evaluations as required. - Acts as the key liaison with benefit consultants and makes recommendations on the selection and usage of pension and benefit strategy. - Leads a team of payroll professionals and provides oversight of the company’s payroll function. - Reviews and analyzes market intelligence to identify trends and ensures that compensation levels and practices are equitable and market competitive to enable the attraction and retention of key talent. - Ensures that daily administration of payroll functions as well as pension and benefit plans are being performed in a timely and accurate manner, and designs systems and processes to ensure same, including associate communication and awareness tools. - Provides insightful analytics and recommends actions to stakeholder groups to guide decision-making and measure business impact. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to present information in a polished, succinct and logical manner and present to senior leaders with confidence, impact and influence. - Active listener; understands the concerns or questions that arise from a discussion or presentation. - Is self-motivated, self-disciplined, energetic, and highly results oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage priorities, shifting demands and workflow. Is collaborative and a team player who is able to handle both small and large matters with equal effectiveness and enthusiasm. **QUALIFICATIONS**: - Seasoned leader with 7+ years of relevant experience - Relevant University degree/College Diploma is required - Accredited HR, Accounting and/or Pension & Benefit designation (e.g. CHRL, CHRM, CHRP, CPA, CEBS) preferred - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage numerous competing priorities - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and strategically identify risk - Flexible and adapts well to change - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills - Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of integrity - Demonstrated leadership skills, proven “hands-on" managerial style, good judgment and strong work ethic - Strategic-thinker with demonstrated business acumen - Experience in the automotive industry would be considered an asset - Knowledge of payroll & benefits accounting, including IFRS for pension and post-retirement benefits - Solid understanding of compensation planning methodologies and salary administration practices - Fluency in French would be considered an asset Honda Canada Inc. is committed to providing accommodation in its recruitment processes to applicants with disabilities, upon request.
