**Job purpose**:
**To clean and prepare meat and seafood for customers. To display and promote department products assisting the department in meeting its objectives and key performance indicators. Closing down department at end of day and cleaning backroom.**

**Responsibilities**:
The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this role. The tasks and time spent performing each task may vary as business needs require. The Sweet Potato maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion.

Display products according to standards, maintaining proper storage conditions.

Replenish and rotate displays, following stocking priorities set by the Department Manager.

Merchandise with appropriate signage.

Customer Service
- Smile, greet, and engage with every customer that comes to the work area.
- Assist customers with questions in a prompt friendly courteous manner, making recommendations on products, facilitating with placing or collecting special orders.
- Make product recommendations, including cooking and prepartion tips.
- Report customer suggestions, comments and complaints utilizing the appropriate forms.

**Department Maintenance**
- Maintain backroom equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
- Maintain department counter, displays, aisles, prep & storage areas in clean and orderly condition.
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly cleans of the department.
- Participate in regular inventory counts.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Meat & Seafood Manager or Store Manager.

Proficiencies:

- Strong product knowledge - meat, seafood
- Knife & butchery skills - basic knowledge of
- Detail-oriented; strong initiative and follow-through; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to set priorities
- Excellent customer service skills

Education/Experience:

- 1+ year in customer service position

Working Conditions
- Retail grocery store environment, lifting up to 25kg
- Active work environment 100% of time
- Cold and odorous work environment

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-25 per week

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
