**Salem Manor Nursing Home in Leduc is looking for a qualified cook that can provide delicious nutritional meals for the residents in our care.**
**Job Type**:
- Cook
- full time
- Hours of work (6:45 am - 3pm / 9:45 am - 6pm)
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- GED or Secondary School Diploma
- Cook Certification - Level 1 or 2 (Red Seal preferred)
- Public Health Food Handlers Certificate
- Basic Baking experience preferred
- Previous cooking experience in an institutionalized setting
**Duties and responsibilities**:
- Basic understanding of therapeutic diets.
- Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and production sheets.
- Solid understanding of quantity cooking methods, procedures and portion control.
- Follow therapeutic menu plan.
- Understand Time/Temp cooking holding
- Adhere to legislative requirements (e.g., Public Health, WHIMIS, Provincial Licensing Body).
- Direct dietary aids in basic food preparation procedures and serving activities.
- Train dietary aids as required.
- Cleaning, disinfecting, ensuring hygiene and adhering to infection control standards.
- Safe food handling practices.
**Must have 2 vaccine doses for Covid-19**
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $15.00-$19.00 per hour
