We are looking for a dynamic and customer-oriented
**Database Administrator **to join our Integrated Global Services branch in
**Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto or Vancouver**. You will be supporting Long View clients with technical issues related to their database environment.

**A Day in the Life**:

- Provision, administer, monitor health & performance, and optimize multiple client database platforms
- Provide operational support for multiple client database platforms
- Active involvement in the onboarding process of new clients for the development of the database architecture and configuration
- Perform health and best practice assessments, troubleshoot services and database failures
- Proactively work with the business and clients to inform them and make recommendations for service improvement
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the users, process owners, outside partners, vendors, and key business stakeholders
- Manage and maintain the team ticket queues for prioritization, assignment of work, SLA, quality & frequency of updates, and timely resolution
- Plan, schedule and execute patches, enhancements, and upgrades
- Create and maintain documentation on client/server infrastructure systems, internal process, standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with other Operational teams to troubleshoot complex systems and take appropriate urgent actions by following escalation procedures

**What You Bring**:

- 5+ years’ experience managing Database infrastructure in an enterprise environment
- Intermediate understanding of Database technologies with a willingness to grow and learn:

- Microsoft SQL, SQL Clustering (AAG), SQL services (SSAS,SSRS), Oracle, Oracle RAC, Oracle DataGuard, Oracle ASM, SQL PaaS
- Intermediate working knowledge of Database best practices, tuning, standards, recovery
- High level of initiative and work ethic
- Motivation and a self-starting mindset
- Accountability and a team-oriented attitude
- Amazing interpersonal skills with a high degree of self-awareness & empathy
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation, as required
- The desire to have fun
