Asphalt Raker

**Overview**

**Duties**
- Rake and spread asphalt mix to achieve proper grade, slope, and finish.
- Assist in aligning and straightening edges for a clean, uniform surface.
- Identify and correct imperfections or low spots in freshly laid asphalt
- Works with rakes to redistribute the asphalt mix more precisely as it leaves the screed and is ready for rolling.
- May operate a variety of hand and power tools as well as some equipment.
- Works as part of the paving crew primarily raking asphalt, shoveling excess asphalt and sweeping up debris.
- Complete a variety of other general labour assignments such as clean and prepare sites.
- Spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintaining a good pace.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools.
- Maintain a clean job site, pick up tools and equipment in order to eliminate potential hazards.
- Other related duties as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

**Experience**
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with asphalt paving machinery.
- Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork skills and a commitment to safety practices.

**Job Type**: Seasonal

Pay: $20.99-$35.00 per hour
