This will be a six month contract opportunity with possibiilty of extention.

**Job Description**:
Working with the Maintenance Manager and General Manager of the site, you will assist in the maintenance of the site, work with basic repairs and monitor facility equipment including general safety inspections, daily walk through of site. Your role may include preventative and corrective maintenance on flooring,walls, roofing, millwork, building envelope, landscaping and other facility finishes as required. Minor electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs to be completed under supervision of other qualified journeyman maintenance personnel. Investigation and troubleshooting of existing systems is required including the ability to evaluate problems and recommend solutions to issues as well as recommendations to improve operational efficiency. Completion of janitorial tasks as required, including project or process cleaning work.

**You Will be Responsible to**:

- Provide administrative duties by keeping current records of preventative maintenance tasks completed, updating the preventative maintenance program as required, ensuring the availability of materials by checking stock levels of parts and components and preparing requisitions.
- Act as primary on-site contact person for minor repairs and maintenance.
- Work with hand tools, power tools and have the physical ability to perform labor intensive
- duties including lifting up to 50 lbs. safely, and the ability to climb stairs and ladders as part of daily activities.
- Participate and Assist in Fire and Safety Drills
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- 2-5 years experience in general maintenance, caretaker and repair in commercial buildings, industrial
- and/or manufacturing environments. Experience in healthcare setting would be a strong asset
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have working knowledge of applicable local and national legislation, codes and standards which may include, but is not necessarily limited to: National Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, National Plumbing Code, National Fire Code, NFPA, ASHRAE Standards, etc
- Training in fire safety, chemical usage, engineering equipment systems and failures
- Effective planning, organizing and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and client/customer service skills
- Effective planning, organizing, and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems
