Kennel Assistants provide support to the Patient Care Assistants and basic care for patients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

- Responsible for basic animal husbandry for patients
- water, food, walks, grooming, bathing etc.
- Ensures that all kennels are cleaned, disinfected and properly maintained with clean bedding for patients.
- Ensures that floors and surfaces are properly cleaned and disinfected.
- Responsible for the completion of daily, weekly and monthly cleaning checklists.
- Ensures that hospital supplies are maintained throughout each shift.
- When needed, ensures that all supply orders are unpacked, inventory placed in designated storage areas and that all invoices are delivered appropriately.
- Responsible for training new Kennel Assistants as part of the onboarding process.
- When requested, ensures that exam rooms are cleaned, disinfected and properly maintained.
- Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeps oneself busy and productive during work shifts.
- Ensures the upkeep of laundry and maintenance of related stock supply.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Ability to recognize and establish priorities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High level of professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Previous experience working within an animal care setting is required.
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Must have a passion for animal welfare.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
