The Health Care Aide is accountable for providing care and support under the supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse. The Health Care Aide provides service which is responsive to the holistic needs of residents and promotes choice while maintaining dignity and facilitating independence. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE St. Therese Villa Collective Agreement.

Previous experience working in a long-term care setting. Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Ability to diplomatically address patient/family concerns. Evidence of continuous learning. Is required to spend considerable time standing, walking and in close supportive contact with patients. Is required to bend, pull, lift, perform variable movements, change position (assume awkward positions), transfer and/or lift adults and transport equipment.
