**Hours of work**:Rotating 8-hour shift schedule between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
**Job purpose**
Using Trauma-informed and Gender-Equity approaches, the Team Lead, Information and Program Engagement Support is responsible for assessing the needs of asylum claimants and temporary resident individuals and families by promoting the Durham Humanitarian Response Project's services, conducting outreach activities, coordinating information sessions and presentations on education, employment, health and housing-related topics for eligible clients.
Existing partnerships will be maintained, and new partners will be introduced to the project to help facilitate workshops and trainings. Individual and family inquiries will be addressed by providing case management, information, referrals and following up to help them resettle and navigate services in Durham. The Resettlement Housing Worker is responsible for assessing temporary resident individuals and families needs and providing support, guidance, information and referrals to services to help them to be settled and housed.

**Resettlement & Housing Services**
- Liaise with the Program Manager, Resettlement and Housing Workers to determine the emerging themes and needs identified by service users during needs assessment appointments.
- Use the themes to inform and select relevant workshop topics and trainings that are client-centred and address clients' resettlement/housing needs and interests.
- Utilize a client-centred, anti-oppression, anti-racism, trauma-informed, gender equity, and strength-based approaches to design the workshop agenda and activities.
- Provide clients with accurate information that addresses their immigration, financial, social, educational, recreational, etc., needs to support their resettlement journey in Canada.
- Provide client with culturally-sensitive resources and workshop handouts to aid in their resettlement and integration.
- Create a list of referral services based on the topics identified and presented on, including referrals support for Crisis intervention, counselling and translation services.
- Keep track of themes that emerge during workshop discussions, and clients’ interactions with other service providers to better cater to clients' needs.
- Assist the Manager with the on-call responsibilities over the weekend and evenings.
**Presentations and Information Sessions**
- Plan a diverse range of presentations and information sessions tailored to the needs and interests of asylum claimants and temporary resident individuals and families, ensuring cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.
- Research and partner with community agencies to facilitate presentations in a large group setting on topics such as settlement, rights and responsibilities as a citizen, housing, financial aid, education, and general living services, including health and public transportation.
- Effectively advertise the presentations, information sessions and other activities to the newcomer community through various communication channels, such as flyers, newsletters, and other promotional materials.
- Coordinate with community partners to deliver all the information sessions at three hotel sites.
- Navigate, build and maintain positive relationships with multiple existing stakeholders and establish new relationships with various public, private and non-profit stakeholders to create a comprehensive presentation rooster.
- Collaborate and engage with community members and local agencies to promote CDCD’s programs and services.
- Liaise with Durham Social Service sector stakeholders to promote project awareness and strengthen existing partnerships.
- Ensure program activities, presentations and information sessions comply with social and employment laws, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Evaluate the success of events and activities through attendee feedback, workshop evaluation surveys, attendance numbers, and other metrics. Use findings to improve and refine future event planning efforts continually.
- Maintain workshop survey results, ensuring confidentiality. Results will be used to generate agency and funder reports.
**Community Engagement and Outreach**
- Develop and implement strategies to engage with local communities, including equity-deserving and equity-seeking groups, as well as grassroots organizations to promote awareness of resettlement services and foster collaboration.
