Oven Operator and Shotpeen Technician

In this position you will be reporting to the Plating & Processing Supervisor. As the Oven Operator and Shotpeen Technician, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the shot peening process as required.

**Work Shift Hours - Weekday Afternoons - Monday - Thursday (4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.)**

**Primary Responsibilities (Oven)**:

- Part loading and unloading and the general support of the process facility
- Ensure strict attention is paid to temperatures, times in and out, batching of parts, logging and tracking of components
- Ensure both the safety of the operator and the components
- Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
- Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
- Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedure
- Perform other duties as required
- Preparation of components for plating processes (i.e. masking, cleaning, tooling)
- Active participation in the implementation and execution of lean principles
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Primary Responsibilities (Shotpeen)**:

- Shot peening aircraft components during the manufacturing process;
- Shot peen parts per process techniques, operation sketches and special handler instructions, to include, but not limited to loading/unloading of shot peen machines and airflow, intensity and pressure techniques
- Read OP sketches and work instructions to identify with requirements
- Maintain acceptable production, quality levels, and departmental equipment, as well as practice safety in the workplace and maintain good housekeeping
- Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Minimum requirements include Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of related manufacturing experience
- Previous formal crane training required
- Demonstrated experience with shot peening would be considered an asset
- Strong PC skills
- Demonstrated experience in material handling and hoist operations required
- Must be in good physical condition and be able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to work well in a team
