Safety Team Lead

Falkbuilt Ltd. is looking for a dedicated team player with excellent technical knowledge and experience to join us as the **Lead** of our **Safety **team**. **Falkbuilt Ltd. is an exciting *Digital Component Construction company headquartered in Calgary. We are a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company that needs a high energy, hardworking and motivated individuals on our team.

In this role, you will provide hands on leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of processes and programs built to assure compliance with existing federal, provincial, and local health and safety regulations and requirements on Falkbuilt premises.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Key Liaison for Safety Program and execution of the Safety Program within Falkbuilt
- Act as the main contact when performing safety incident investigations and interact with Alberta OHS or other regulatory compliance associations.
- Continually review safety investigation standards to be followed for minor, serious and near-miss incidents, and facilitate and coordinate training sessions on any new investigative process.
- Conducts accident/incident investigations in accordance with safety policies.
- Obtains and reviews investigative evidence in support of the investigation, which may include but is not limited to employee interviews, photographic evidence and damage reporting.
- Ensures investigation actions are accurately documented and shared with the leadership team.
- Trending of occurrences - injury, damage, near-miss, etc.
- Notifies the lead or delegates immediately if non-compliance is discovered during an investigation.
- Recommends, tracks, and verifies the effectiveness of corrective action plans; work closely with Human Resources regarding corrective action.
- Assists with and/or conducts risk assessments.
- Performs regular Site Inspections, reporting findings to Production Senior Manager.
- Manages and assists with all injury occurrences and reporting
- Experience with WCB reporting and management.
- Ensure Safety Meetings are held according to OH&S Legislation
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Senior Manager

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- 5-8 years of Occupational Health and Safety leadership experience required.
- A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation will be considered an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing / construction facility is preferred.
- The ability to work without supervision, take initiative and communicate effectively with team members and other business units and departments.
- Holds Intermediate First Aid Training
- Assist with management of required Safety training.
- Experience in training and mentoring other safety professionals as well as production leads.
- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to provide or receive detailed or specialized information and experience explaining complex legislated requirements or investigative findings to various stakeholders.
- Support the management of action plans by assisting in identifying potential emergency situations, assist in creating emergency communication plans, support testing and validating the emergency action plans.
- Strong relationship building skills with experience in coordinating the expectations of a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations that comply with corporate standards and required external legislation.
- Experience in US Safety rules and regulations or willingness to learn an asset.

**Additional Notes**:

- Must be a positive team player that is able to work closely with all Falkers.
- Must own reliable transportation and be willing to travel between several locations located within SE Calgary
- Must be available / on call to respond to urgent matters on the weekends as Falkbuilt operates 7 days a week.
