**Summary**

The Procurement Assistant is to provide administrative and support to a Buyer of the Company. In this role, the Procurement Assistant will monitor inventory, update reports, communicate with vendors and clients any required product information. The incumbent must be highly organized and able to show tact and maintain confidentiality.

**Hours of work is 7AM - 3PM from Monday to Friday.**

**Job Duties**
- Communicate with logistics to ensure timely loading and delivery of products
- Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
- Issuing Purchase Orders to vendors and working with the accounting department to ensure suppliers are paid
- Daily review of inventory to ensure correct counts and FIFO is being followed, issuing manual orders when/if required to flow through inventory
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
- Updating a traceability sheet for all items with quality concerns
- Managing transfers between all facilities in Ontario
- Maintaining an offshore tracking sheet and updating the team with any new ETA’s
- Updating an assortment catalogue and seasonal charts as new items are introduced
- Visiting retailers/independents to compare assortment and offerings as required
- Supporting Buyer in developing new items for assigned category
- Other duties relevant to the position will be assigned as required.

**Requirements**:

- 2-3 years of working experience in a similar role
- University degree preferred
- Able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills

**Working Conditions**
- Manual dexterity required to use computer and peripherals
- Required to work every other Sunday of the month
- Occasional travel between different locations and customers
- Sitting for long periods
- Flexibility with hours, on call during holidays/weekends

Pay: $50,000.00-$51,000.00 per year
