**Responsibilities**
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment and tools in a clean, secure, and appropriate working condition.
- Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records (KPI’s) for identified equipment by recording actions taken.
- Direct and lead maintenance staff in everyday scheduling, preventative maintenance, repair of all production equipment and troubleshooting to resolve equipment related issues
- Assist and train other maintenance and/or other technical level employees. Will assist in planning and facilitating new and existing associate training.
- Promote and maintain clean, organize, and safe work environment through 5s activities and be responsible for proper material storage and waste disposal.
- Oversee operations of Utilities (steam boilers, compressed air, RO water, refrigeration/cooling systems), ensuring adequate supply and quality of utilities to the Operations team.
- Maintain equipment and parts inventory using available resources to continuously minimize downtime and improve OEE.
- Schedule and supervise major equipment repairs, overhauls, and rebuilding to ensure that it is fully operational and safe to operate and within schedule requirements
- Liaise with government agencies/regulatory bodies as required to ensure site certifications and regulatory issues are adhered to (TSSA, ESA, MOL)
- Support site Engineering efforts by soliciting bids from vendors and contractors for small projects and oversee contractors work on site.
- Provide technical expertise to our operations team surrounding equipment operation, troubleshooting and optimization.
- Knowledge and understanding of reliability centered maintenance practice. Knowledge and understanding of sound engineering practices and principles.
- Be responsible for maintenance budget and spending.
- Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Profile**
- A licensed trade ticket or post-secondary trades or engineering diploma is required
- 2+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment conducting maintenance duties is required
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills with strong PLC/controls knowledge
- Certification as an Industrial Electrician is an asset
- Previous working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot/diagnose pneumatics, motors, conveyors, shaft alignment, pulleys, belts, and bearings
- Familiarity with food plant equipment maintenance, mobile equipment, industrial blenders, filling equipment and conveyor belt systems
- Working knowledge of quality system requirements in place in the food industry (HACCP, GMP, BRC)
- Demonstrated decision making skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and quality of support and service
- Good interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact with all levels of management
- Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills to effectively mentor and lead staff
- Capable of working under different levels of stress and responsibilities while meeting deadlines or reacting to sudden changes in priorities
- Shift work, extended hours and flexible hours will be intermittent at the beginning of the role during the plant start up
- Available and accessible during off hours and weekends for emergency support and backup
