**Public Works - Transportation**

**Regular Full-Time**

**_ CUPE LOCAL 966 - Public Works_**

Under general supervision, performs manual and equipment operating duties for various Public Works - Transportation functions. Operates Public Works vehicles including trucks which may be operated under provisions of class ‘AZ’ license

**_
Responsibilities_**_:_**
- Transports construction and maintenance materials and equipment
- Responsible for all aspects of the load including tarping, tie downs and may assist with unloading
- Performs snow clearing and material spreading activities in winter months, routine road patrol duties and inspection of road system assets as required
- Provides accurate feedback of conditions, identifies causes and suggests remedies to foreperson based on standard operating practices
- Performs duties in a safe manner following legislation, regional policies and procedures
- Perform all duties in a way that conveys a “positive image: of the Region

**_ Qualifications_**_:_**
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
- Class “AZ” driver’s license in good standing
- Minimum one year of job related experience
- Physically able to perform all duties and requirements of the job
- Able to read, write, understand and speak English
- Must be capable of accurately completing work forms and reports
- Training in Commercial Vehicle Operations Registrations (CVOR) is required
- Ability assessment will be conducted by Fleet Safety

**Location**:2 Copper Road, Brampton, ON

**Hours**:40 hours per week
