This position is within the Renewable Energy market sector of the Power Division. This market sector specializes in wind, solar and battery storage projects. We work in collaboration with public and private sector clients on innovative projects that allow our team members to prove their expertise and to train a new generation of passionate people.

In order to meet these growth challenges, WSP is currently looking for an Engineer in Training in electrical, Renewable Energy to join our National Electrical Team located in one of our offices in Canada.

The position is available in all our Canadian offices.

**A day in the life**:

- Design of electrical works (high voltage substation, switching station, and AC/DC collection system) related to renewable energy projects (Solar, Wind, BESS, Hydro);
- Perform electrical design, including calculations and preparation of drawings and specifications as well as reports and estimates for renewable energy projects;
- Liaise closely with established technical teams to coordinate engineering work
- Perform steady-state or transient network studies with software such as ETAP, EasyPower, PSCAD or EMTP-RV;
- Perform cable optimisation using Cymcap;
- Perform grounding studies with CDEGS or WinIGS.
- Work in close collaboration with engineer, technicians and drafters in the team;
- Coordinate with relevant regulatory authorities and utilities;
- Some travel to and from client sites may be required.
