Bon Ton Bakery Ltd. is looking for a Head Baker in Edmonton, AB.

Responsibilities include:

- Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
- Bake mixed dough and batters
- Use long fermentation period methods
- Prepare sourdough breads.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Prepare special orders
- Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff
- Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods
- Train staff
- Responsible for ongoing, consistent quality of all breads, buns, bagels, sweet buns, savoury treats (all night baked products).
- Schedule staff
- Inspect kitchen and food service areas
- Operate machinery
- Hire and dismiss staff
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Setting a positive tone and strong work ethic, leading by example
- Communicate information and changes as provided by management
- Completion of all night baked products in a timely and cost effective manner - this includes both cost effective use of labour and ingredients
- Ensuring all equipment is cleaned on a regular basis
- Coordinate the development of new products working with all bakers and management both for monthly specials and ongoing regular menu additions
- Troubleshoot when problems come up with variations in temperature and how it effects the baking process to the final result

Educational requirement: Completion of College/CEGEP/Vocational or Technical Training

Related experience: 3 - 5 Years Experience.

Wage offered: $33.65 per hour for 40 hours/week, Permanent, Full Time, Night. Benefits: Medical Benefits
