Position Overview
The Manager on Duty (MOD), under the direction of the General Manager, will primarily be responsible for overseeing the daily/nightly operations of a facility, ensuring everything runs smoothly, and addressing any issues that arise during their shift. The role of an MOD is crucial for maintaining the overall operation and ensuring a high level of service during their shift.
Below is an overview of the typical responsibilities and duties associated with an MOD position.
**Objectives for this role**:
- Audit and improve processes pertaining to security matters; Create Physical Security Threat Risk Assessments.
- Respond to security incidents throughout Larga Baffin as primary investigator to any major incidents including initial investigation, reporting, communicating details of incident and liaising with executive management and emergency services (as required)
- Direct security and building staff response in the event of an emergency (Act in primary security role until relieved by senior team member).
- Manage the effectiveness of assigned supervisors and employees by providing sound leadership, management, guidance and coaching.
- Conduct contract and personnel investigations and provide recommendations.
- Ensure complaints, problems and requests are effectively resolved in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the facility is running efficiently and that all areas are properly staffed and functioning.
- Make critical decisions in the absence of senior management, ensuring that operations continue smoothly.
- Ensure that all services provided meet or exceed quality standards, enhancing the customer experience.
- Enforce safety and security protocols, ensuring the safety of both clients and staff.
- Act as the primary point of contact during emergencies, coordinating response efforts and communicating with relevant authorities.
- Ensure that all company policies and procedures are being followed by staff.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Ensure seamless 24/7 operations focused on threat detection, risk assessment, and incident response, maintaining the highest level of readiness.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring all communications are professional and addressing any concerns promptly to ensure resolution is satisfactory. Interact with clients or customers to address any concerns, complaints, or special requests.
- Address and resolve any operational issues that arise during the shift, such as equipment malfunctions or staffing shortages.
- Oversee the quality of work performed by the team, conducting regular audits and providing feedback to enhance performance. Continuously evaluate and improve Larga Baffin processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Establish and enforce stringent security protocols and develop comprehensive crisis management plans.
- Assist in conducting & coordinating Larga Baffin research requests, and event/risk assessments to increase the client's awareness on threats & safety concerns.
- Provide detailed reports to senior management and clients with insights, metrics, and recommendations to enhance security measures. Ensure effective communication channels are maintained.
- Oversee completion of incident reports and daily reporting structures, share information with the executive management.
- Supervise and support staff, ensuring they are performing their duties effectively.
- Address any interpersonal conflicts or issues among staff members promptly and professionally.
- Provide guidance and training to staff as needed, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Track and maintain logs outlining shift occurrences. Oversee logs completed by staff members throughout shifts.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Post-secondary Diploma in related field such as: Business Admin, Police Foundations, Operations Management or equivalent level of experience and/or education.
- Experience in Critical Incident Management or Corporate Security.
- 5+ years of experience working in a security leadership role
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations
- Must be able to quickly adapt and excel in dynamic situations
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Successful client management experience
- Strong formal and informal leadership skills
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Experience with coaching and employee development
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees
