- Summary:
This position supports three males in their home. This shift is very busy and works collaboratively with co-staff on shift. In addition to supporting the individuals in their goals, staff also must be able to maintain a clean and safe home, cook meals that follow the food safe handling, work collaboratively with co-staff and all individuals. Attention to detail is a necessity in this home due to medical complexities. Strong time management, attention to details and computer skills are a must to successfully support all individuals.
This home is deemed medical complex as there are many protocols in place including tube feeding, bathing, PRN. All individuals supported have a bathing protocol to be followed
Physical demands of the job including being able to lift and transfer individual from bed to wheelchair (lift provided), support individuals being turned and made comfortable.
- Qualifications:
Diploma in Rehabilitation and/or related education (preferred).
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Experience providing personal care and behavioral supports required.
A clear criminal record check including the vulnerable sector is required.
Emergency First Aid/CPR, APRP, PBS, SIVA and Medication Administration certifications are required or must be obtained within 90 days, training provided through agency or provide your current certification.
Reliable vehicle, class 5 driver’s license, clean drivers abstract, and $2,000,000 liability required.
Excellent communication skills required (verbal and written).
Experience with Outlook, Microsoft word, and computer use required.
- Salary: $19.75 - $24.27 and is dependent on education.
