Technician, Manufacturing Support

Reporting directly to the Lead, Manufacturing Engineering the Technician, Manufacturing Support is responsible for providing technical support to the Manufacturing area.
**As a Technician, Manufacturing Support, your main responsibilities will include (but not limited to)**:
- Performs tool design using Jig’s, Fixtures or Stencils, etc.;
- Develops and implements production aids;
- Assists in the implementation of new products both internal and external;
- Helps support production estimates;
- Production support on a day to day basis;
- Assists in the preparation of reports and proposals of a technical nature;
- Audits production builds with regard to routings, drawings, tooling and equipment;
- Supports process equipment in all areas;
- Provides training/coaching on manufacturing techniques and equipment to production staff;
- Assists in the evaluation of new equipment and future requirements; and
- Programs various process equipment.
**What you require to be successful in the role**:
- Possession of an electrical engineering technician/technologist diploma and/or equivalent work experience;
- 2 to 5 years of related work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment;
- Good problem solving skills are key to make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions;
- Effective technical report writing skills to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data for varied audiences;
- CAD/CAM experience is a must;
- Ability to coach production personnel on manufacturing processes;
- Highly effective customer service skills;
- SMT experience would be a definite asset;
- Sound understanding of Just in Time and MRP II principles;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and meet work schedules;
- Ability to manage multiple technical assignments;
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
- Proven team player in a multifunctional and changing technical environment; and
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
