**POSITION**: Assistant, Development (Community Giving)

**STATUS**: Permanent; Full-Time

**SHIFT**: 35 Hours per week - Monday to Friday

**LOCATION**: Provincial Office Annex in Vancouver, BC

**CLASSIFICATION**: Exempt

**WAGE**: Salaried

At the BC SPCA, you’ll be joining one of the most innovative and successful fundraising teams in Canada. The BC SPCA is funded by compassionate animal lovers who helped us assist nearly 119,000 animals last year. Your work will help make all of that possible.
The role of Assistant, Development (Community Giving)
You will provide crucial administrative support for community fundraising and engagement activities at our Community Animal Centres. This includes supporting centres with their events in an administrative capacity, assist with donor stewardship, and maintaining accurate records and budgets. You will work closely with the Senior Officer, Community Giving and contribute to the success of our fundraising initiatives.
- Set up and send e-blasts for Community Animal Centre events, manage online event postings, ticketing, and assisting with social media promotion.E-blasts and Online Promotion:

- Coordinate donations of $1000+ between the Generosity Services team and BC SPCA Community Animal Centres.Donation Coordination:

- Format and distribute monthly thank you call lists, assist with AnimalSense stewardship, and coordinate distribution of stewardship materials.Communication and Reporting:

- Assist with event logistics, including tracking and coordinating event technology resources, setting up ticketing, and providing support for online auctions.Event Support:

- Provide administrative assistance for Animal Centre events, Adopt A Kennel program, Flagship events, and general support to the Community Giving team.Administrative Support:

- Engage with internal stakeholders such as the Community Giving Team, Senior Managers and Managers of Animal Centres, and the Revenue Development Department, as well as external contacts including suppliers, vendors, and donors.Collaboration and Communication:

- You possess excellent customer service and donor stewardship skills. You use your exceptional, written, oral and persuasive communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders and have a proven ability to relate respectfully to a diverse audience.

- You are in philosophical harmony with the mission, vision, and guiding principles of the BC SPCA.
- You have a proven ability to succeed with minimum supervision in an environment involving multiple priorities/deadlines.

What skills have you developed?
- Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer.
- Some fundraising experience preferred.
- Experience in graphic design and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Comfort with learning new software and programs required.
- Knowledge of databases/CRMs (especially Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online) would be considered an asset.
- Some weekend and evening work necessary.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional growth and education.
